FAQ - AFA MEMBERSHIP

Q.1 How to become a member of AFA?

Ans: Please contact: AFA Head Office at email Id (afaheadoffice@mail.com) Mobile No. 7011732270, 8826392352 and 9910948444.
You may also contact AFA Branches. Contact details of Branches are available in each issue of AFA news magazine Eagles’ Eye.

Q.2 Who all are eligible to become member of AFA?

Ans: All Air Veterans including NCs(E) are eligible. Spouses can also become member after the demise of the Air Veteran. (Terms & Conditions of membership apply).

Q.3 Can I become a member on line?

Ans: Yes, please write to afaheadofficeftdmail.com to get application form and payment of membership fees online.

Q4. What is the membership fee?

Ans: AFA life membership fee is mentioned in Application Form.

Q.5- How does AFA help in case of demise of Air Veteran?

Ans :AFA helps in facilitating arrangements for last rites of deceased AFA member in coordination with the nearest Air Force Station. AFA pays an amount of Rs. 7500 to NOK as E. Gratia payment. This grant is admissible only if the deceased Air Veteran was a member of A A. Otherwise, AFA does assist the families of non AFA members also in making arrangement for last rites.

Q.6:Can AFA help NOK of deceased Air Veteran for getting Rs 15000 from IAFBA under Garima Grant?

Ans: YES, the application forms can be obtained either by downloading the application form from IAFBA website or by writing to us on Email.

Q.7:Does AFA assist NOK in getting death entitlements?
Ans: All the branches of AFA support NOK to get their entire family pension and other entitled dues in coordination with DAV, IAFBA, JCDA, etc.

Q.8 Does AFA give any financial help on marriage of daughter of deceased Air Veterans?

Ans:Yes. AFA gives a SHAGUN on daughter’s marriage to widow members. This facility is available to spouse members of AFA only.

Q.9: Does the spouse become an automatic member of AFA?

Ans: No, the spouses does not become a member automatically. The spouse has to approach AFA HO or anyone of the branches to become a member. Details of the membership are given at Q&A no. 4 above.

Q.10:What is the AFA news magazine membership fees?

Ans: In the Governing Council Meeting and General Body Meeting of 2022, it has been decided that effective January 2023, there shall be no membership/subscription fees for AFA news magazine. No new members will be made for the magazine.

Q.11-How shall Air Veterans becoming members of Air Force Association, post 01 January 2023, get AFA news magazine Eagle’s Eye?

Ans:-Delivery of printed copy of news magazine by Book Post to all new AFA members (Post 01 Jan 2023) is being stopped forthwith. However AFA news magazine in PDF format can be obtained from AFA head office by sending a mail to AFA Head office at mail Id afaheadofficeomail.com or from AFA branches by writing to branches on their Mail Id.

Q.12: Is the magazine available to AFA members on social media?

Ans: Yes, it is available in PDF format on AFA page at Facebook ( Airforceassociation India) and AFA website (www.afa-india.org),

Q.13: Can AFA members (post January 2023 / AFA non members / non subscribers collect copy from AFA Head Office?

 
Ans: Printed copy can be obtained by all Air Warriors / Air Veterans from AFA head office on ..int of Rs 50.

Q.14: Can AFA members / non members / non subscribers be delivered printed copy?

Ans:Yes, Magazine copy @ Rs 50 per copy can also be delivered to members by Speed :1 Additional Postal charges of Rs 50 shall be chargeable.Please write to us ac afaheadoffice@gmail.com and WhatsApp, for delivery by post.

Q.15: Will AFA magazine subscribers (members / subscribers who had paid life time subscription for printed copy of magazine prior to 01 January 2023) continue to get their printed copy by book post as hitherto? 

Ans: Yes. Printed copies shall continue to be delivered by Book Post to all existing magazine subscribers.
